— Details This is a replacer mod, meaning all the scopes in the vanilla game (and Shattered Space if you download the patch) will be replaced by these scopes. Like my reflex sights mod, the reticles in the scopes will always point to where the first bullet will go, center of the screen. The scope reticle will move with the sway of the camera, but this sway affects the whole screen so the center does not change. Weapons' parts that would normally be visible when looking through the scope will be hidden while you are looking through it to give a better illusion of a scope. (Let me know if i missed any) Vanilla zoom levels are changed to the following: – Short: 4X – Medium: 6X – Long: 8X Since this mod removes the overlay, you can't hold your breath to stabilize your aim anymore. Sniper Certification ranks will increase scope stability instead. Combatech recon scope model is now removed and replaced with the usual combatech scope model because I did not want to edit the same scope model.

— Limitations I couldn't find a way to make the scope reticle render only through the glass so they are hidden based on viewing angle. They will only be visible when seen at an almost 90 degree angle, which will always be true when the player is looking through scopes. Because of this work around, sometimes they can be seen outside the scopes as the weapon moves around when jumping. Based on my tests, it only happens with some weapons when the player jumps or fires while strafing right. I can't find a way to make black and thin scope reticles that don't cause horrible ghosting. So, I opted to use textures that are more similar to reflex sight reticles. Some were already in the game but unused, some I got from other games. Scope reticles can linger on the screen if you start sprinting while looking through a scope and hold the sprint button while moving. This does not happen if you do not hold the aim down sight button after starting sprinting and/or use toggle iron sights.

— Compatibility Every single weapon mod will need a compatibility patch. This mod changes the object mod records used by vanilla scopes. This mod comes with edited models for Grendel, Drumbeat, Equinox, Magsniper, Novablast, Razorback and Old Earth Hunting Rifle. If you overwrite these models with another mod, some parts of the weapons could be seen through the scope while firing.

— FOV FOV settings are important. I created the mod with an FOV of 90–110 in mind. The lower the FOV, the further away the weapon will be while looking through the scope. Showcase video was recorded with 110 FOV. First person geometry FOV (fFPGeometryFOV) needs to be the default value of 85. Otherwise, weapons might look further or closer than intended, or even upside down in extreme cases. If you are set on using a custom fFPGeometryFOV, you can edit the "FP Geometry FOV Offset" in every zoom data record ending with "_SWO" to make up for the difference. For example, if your fFPGeometryFOV setting is 110, you need to lower "FP Geometry FOV Offset" by 110-85=25.

— Some reticle textures are from Insurgency Sandstorm.

— Huge thanks to zimboptoo for the documentation on his fallout 4 mod.
