A New You

OPEN THE CHARACTER CREATION MENU AND CHANGE NEARLY EVERYTHING FOR YOUR EXISTING CHARACTER!
Now you can open the character creation menu anytime and change your existing character! This mod isn't a mere Enhance makeover. Besides changing your body and face, you can change your Biometric ID (head or race), Background, Traits, and Name. Plus, the skills for the Background you choose will increase one rank (up to a maximum of 4). To start making changes to yourself, access the new terminal in the basement of The Lodge, next to the Constellation Mission Board. You can use it as often as you like. Enjoy the new you!

WHAT'S NEW
Initial release for PC and Xbox.
USING THE MOD
The mod works for new characters. To use it:
<1> Save your game. <2> Find the A New You terminal in the basement of the Constellation Lodge. <3> Activate the terminal to open the Character Creation screen. <4> For the Biometric ID, choose (1) to keep your character's race the same. Or choose a different Biometric ID. <5> For the Body, make any changes you want as you would at an Enhance shop. <6> For the Face, make any changes you want as you would at an Enhance shop. <7> For the Background, select a different one, or keep it the same by selecting it and selecting it again (for important information, see the following section "What You Get"). <8> For the Traits, keep them the same, choose different ones, or uncheck all to have no traits (for important information, see the following section "What You Get"). <9> Verify you have everything the way you want. <10> Select the option to Finish. <11> Rename your character, or spell your name the same and add a space at the end. <12> Select Done.
WHAT YOU GET
The mod has a small footprint since it uses existing scripts in the game. It makes only one change to The Lodge in New Atlantis: A small terminal is mounted on the wall next to the Constellation Mission Board in the basement. Activating the terminal immediately opens the Character Creation menu that you use when you create a new character. You can change as few or as many things as you like, but it won't change your character's level or the skills you have earned. Things you can change are your:
Biometric ID: Choose (1) to keep it the same, or choose a different head type and race.
Body: Make changes for free, as you do at an Enhance shop when you pay 500 credits.
Face: Make changes for free, as you do at an Enhance shop when you pay 500 credits.
Background: Choose a different background, or keep your background the same (to keep it the same, you must unselect and select it again).
Traits: Keep them the same, select different ones, or unselect all of them.
Name: When you finish, you will be prompted to change your character's name (to keep the name, spell it the same, and add a space at the end).
QUALITY ASSURANCE
The mod was tested extensively with both a new and a new-game-plus character to confirm it works as described. Any known issues are documented in the description (see "Limitations of the Mod"). The game's built-in Command Console was used to verify the backgrounds, traits, and their related effects (e.g., hidden "spells") were added or removed as expected. If you encounter any issues not described here, please let me know (see "Please Like & Comment" for my contact information).
LIMITATIONS OF THE MOD
The mod requires you to change your character's name. If you want to keep the same spelling, add a space at the end of the name. If you change your Background, the old background will still be displayed in the Character menu with the new one. Some traits that require quests to set up aren't available, yet. For example, if you add the Kid Stuff trait, you won't be able to visit your parents in the Pioneer Tower in New Atlantis. If you remove the Hero Worship trait, the annoying fan will still be available as a follower. (If the mod gets enough subscribers and Likes, I'll add support for traits like these in a future update.) Although the mod doesn't remove any skills, it does increase the ranks of first-tier skills for the Background you choose (even if you choose the same Background). This will happen each time you change your character or until the skills reach Rank 4. To change your character more than once, you must exit and enter The Lodge each time you want to use the terminal again.
COMPATIBILITY
Mods that change The Lodge basement might keep your character from activating the terminal. I'll consider moving the terminal to a different spot in the basement to make it compatible with such a mod. Mods that add new or change existing Traits and Backgrounds will likely be compatible, as this mod doesn't change any of the Backgrounds or Traits. Mods that change bodies, heads, and facial features should also be compatible. Mods that change the character creation menu should be compatible, as this mod doesn't change the menu.
DISABLING THE MOD
It's safe to disable the mod. When disabled, the changes made to your character will remain. The A New You terminal in The Lodge will be removed.
