The Dreamlands

'The Dreamlands' is an expansive experience designed to inject mystery, action, and exploration into Starfield. The Dreamlands are a mystical land where the familiar and the unfamiliar clash together in unexpected ways to offer exciting encounters that shake up the usual Starfield formula.
When falling asleep, you have a chance to wake up in a dream. As you progress the main story, as well as a select few side and faction quests, you will begin to dream about the places you've gone and the experiences you have had. Dreams are often full of tough enemies and creatures, but fear not! If you die in a dream, you will wake up back at your bedside unharmed and well rested.
To begin dreaming, you must have read the book found within your room at The Lodge. Otherwise, you can ignore the book until you are ready to begin.
A plethora of goods and gear can be found throughout The Dreamlands. This includes weapons with new legendary weapon effects, and even a highly experimental weapon that launches an unconventional projectile at your foes...
Among the gear found in The Dreamlands, you will also find a new fearsomely loyal heatleech companion, Sancho. He can be released by using a new item called the "Canned Heatleech" and captured again by interacting with him.
During your adventures, you will meet a new chem vendor named Haidee. Haidee is a resident of The Dreamlands highly skilled in the art of titration. Along with her stock of usual chems, she offers a brand new chem called 'The Ninth Eye' that can reveal hidden passageways in The Dreamlands that lead to new areas and rewards (think Dark Souls fog walls!) Additionally, recipes for unknown and powerful chems can be found scattered across The Dreamlands and brought to her to expand her stock. Haidee will sell clues as to where to find these recipes.
The noise machine is a new constructible object that can be built in outposts or ships. Interact with it to choose an ambient noise that corresponds to a dream you have already visited. The next time you dream while near your noise machine, you will visit that dream location. This is useful to guarantee a location you would like to revisit.
To escape a dream, sleep in any unowned bed. A bed will always be available at the start of the dream should you wish to return to the waking world. If you reach the end of a dream, you will awaken feeling 'Motivated.' For the duration of your newfound motivational energy, you will be granted a random perk. This effect can stack up to five times.
Dreams can be easily prevented with a new item, the dreamcatcher. To prevent dreams from occurring, simply carry the dreamcatcher in your inventory. Inversely, if you want to guarantee a dream, falling asleep under the effects of a certain psycho-active chem derived from fish may do the trick. Just don't get caught smuggling it...
