Currently has three hab types (4 Workbenches, 2 Bunks, MiniMess). The habs exists with two door orientations (Fore/Aft and Port/Starboard).

Available Hab Types

There are currently two habs types : -- 4 Workbenches: Contains an Armor, Weapon, Industrial, and Pharmaceutical Workbench. Also ShipCargo screen and workbench light switches. -- 2 Bunks: Provides two beds and increases ship passenger capacity by 2. -- MiniMess : Contains a cooking station and research workbench. Also ShipCargo screen and cooking bench/table light switches.

Door Orientations ( Fore/Aft vs. Port/Starboard )

Each hab type comes in two orientation variants: Fore/Aft (FA) and Port/Starboard (PS). This ensures the two "useful" internal walls (where workbenches or bunks are located) remain consistent, regardless of where the game places doors.

-- Fore/Aft (FA): Allows potential door placement on the Fore (front) and Aft (rear) sides of the hab only. -- Port/Starboard (PS): Allows potential door placement on the Port (left) and Starboard (right) sides of the hab only. -- The orientation (FA or PS) is included in the hab's name in the ship builder name ("Stroud 2 Bunks FA Mid A"). -- Top and Bottom hatches are included if the corresponding vanilla hab variant has them. -- All external snap points are maintained, allowing attachment of other modules (weapons, structural components, etc.) as usual.

Note that not all the vanilla 1x1 variant habs have all access points (up, down, fore, aft, port, starboard). HopeTech Fuselage A/B/C for example do not have top and port/starboard access. Thus the PS versions of these habs can only be accessed by the bottom hatch. A list of access points by hab type is given at the end of the description.

Getting the Habs

They are available in any shipyards that sell the manufacturer's parts. They are listed along the 1x1 Hallway/Cargo habs - except for the Stroud Port/Starboard A/B/C variants which are in 6 new subcategories. There is no impact on vanilla Stroud Port/Starboard A/B/C which continue to be listed in their usual place. For Ship Builder Categories users, these new lists will appear in the Hab category, not the dedicated Stroud category.

Compatibility

-- Ship Builder Categories : compatible. The new Stroud Port/Starboard habs are in the "Hab" category instead of the Stroud category. -- Place Doors Yourself : compatible. -- There are no edits to vanilla records so this should be compatible with more or less everything.
