FAQ:
Q: How do I find this secret base? A: First, fly to the Nemeria System and locate Nemeria IV-a, an orbiting moon. From there, land at the Cabin to access the base.
Q: It says I need a key to open a door! A: You’ll need either the AlphaShieldHQ Secret Entrance Cabin Key or the Stairwell Key. New game? Check survival kits in Vectera Mine and Kreet Station. Or use one of 18 teleport points—the easiest is at New Atlantis Spaceport near the Kiosk. Inside the Lair, keys can also be found in the Captain’s Quarters, Captain’s Terminal, and chests throughout the Lair.
Q: How do I determine where to land my ship? A: Lower the lift = land in the underground hangar. Raise the lift = land on the surface pad.
Q: I want to land in the underground hangar, but the doors are closed. A: No worries! Ground control detects incoming and departing ships and automatically opens the doors.
Q: How do the shuttle bay doors work? A: On a new game the system initializes automatically. On an existing save, press either the Open or Close button at the hangar elevator once to initialize it. From that point forward shuttle bay doors open and close automatically on every landing and takeoff — no further action needed.
Q: Can I manually control the Hydraulic Lift and Shuttle Bay Doors? A: Of course! You'll find controls at the Cabin lift entrance, at the hangar elevator and on the ship landing pad control panel. From there, manually open the bay doors and operate the hydraulic lift - as long as safety conditions are met.
Q: What are the Safety Conditions? A: Doors can't close if the lift is raised. Lift won't raise if a ship is in the hangar or doors are sealed. Examples: To raise the lift: ensure the hangar is empty and bay doors are open.
Q: Can ships be raised using the Hydraulic Lift? A: Currently, ships are excluded from using the Hangar lift. While the Mantis ship can be raised and lowered in the interior Lair, this feature has been disabled on the surface to allow proper landing of player ships inside the hangar.
Q: I selected an item at the Master Terminal but nothing happened! A: After selecting your item, activate the Start Production switch, located to the right of the Master Terminal.
Q: Do I have to stop production to switch items? A: Nope! Just select a new item at any time.
Q: The production counter turned yellow, then green - what does that mean? A: Green: you're nearing 1000 items After 1000, the counter resets, allowing production to continue beyond that mark
Q: I need a place to store my loot. Are there any infinite storage containers in the lair? A: Yes! The three most important are the Universal Storage for on-the-go access, the Resource Hub which supplies the manufacturing lines, and the Captain's Locker for your most prized possessions. The Captain's Locker doubles as an infinite safe and automatic collection tracker.
Q: How does the auto collection system work? A: Just toss your loot into the Captain's Locker and let it do the rest. Supported collectibles are automatically detected, catalogued, and displayed. Track your collections from the Collection Terminal. Once items are displayed, you can sell, store, or move the original item at any time without affecting your displays or collection status.
Q: What is the Universal Storage and how does it work? A: The USB is the Lair's universal storage — accessible anywhere without returning to the Lair. On a new game it appears automatically in your inventory under the Weapons category. Add it to your favorites and open it with a single button press from anywhere in the galaxy. For existing saves, enter the Lair through the hangar elevator at least once to initialize it.
Q: This place is huge - how do I get my bearings? A: The hideout spans 3 levels with multiple paths to key locations. You can reach areas like the central core using: -Teleports -Elevators -Stairways -Secret doors and vents There are hidden chests scattered along the passageways so don't be afraid to explore.
Q: You mentioned exclusive gear. Where do I find it? A: Exclusive gear can be found scattered throughout the lair and in the Escape Room. For easy access, the Captain's Quarters houses the Captain's Terminal, where you can purchase all your exclusive gear if you ever lose something.
Q: I see part of the hideout is the Mantis Lair. Will this break my quest if I haven't completed it yet, or will I get attacked by Spacers? A: Nope, you're safe! The Alpha Shield Interactive Hideout is a standalone base - fully rebuilt and customized, distinct from the Mantis Lair quest. You can complete the Mantis questline at any time without issues. Spacers won't attack you unless you start a fight yourself!
Q: What is BMVA?
A: A shady group of vendors of dubious origin who somehow always have the best deals anywhere in the galaxy.
Q: I manufactured X-Tech at the manufacturing line but it says it's corrupted. what should I do? A: Corrupted X-Tech is valuable! Take it to the BMVA to exchange it for X-Tech or credits.
Q: How do I purchase from the BMVA Terminal?
A: They only accept Counterfeit Credits manufactured at the line. Their asking price is 75,000 per item. Just 5 minutes at the production line and you'll have everything you need.
