Noisemaker Mines
Community Rating
New Atlantis's underworld has a solution for every problem and Vicente Salinas, the shadiest arms dealer in Apex Electronics, has one for deception. His noisemaker mines look like children's toys and sound like nothing you'd expect from a weapon.
Deploy one, and watch hostiles abandon their posts to go investigate a noise that packs a surprise.
Acoustic Lure System
Every mine emits a continuous audio pulse, drawing hostile NPCs within range away from their posts and straight into the trigger radius.
Loud & Quiet Variants
Loud mines are 2.5x louder, built for open environments and pulling a crowd. Quiet mines are built for interiors, or when you only want to peel off one or two.
Every Damage Type
Frag, stun, toxic, and more. Distraction and elimination, in the same device.
Battery Life
Mines stay armed for 60 seconds before deactivating, you'll get a notification when this happens. They can be retrieved for reuse.
Reusable
Mines pulse blue on your scanner for easy relocation. Walk up to a mine and interact with it to safely disarm and reclaim it.
Throwable
Full throwing arc with the right perks, and a 3-second arming delay to give you time to find cover.
Getting Them
Vicente Salinas sells the frag variant guaranteed, plus a rotating stock of the others from his shop in Apex Electronics, The Well, New Atlantis. You'll need to complete a short quest to unlock access to his store.
Want to craft your own? You'll need to relieve Vicente of a certain book (also in Apex Electronics, shown in the showcase video below). Reading it unlocks the recipe. Craftable at any Industrial Workbench.
Installing on an existing save: give Vicente's inventory 48 hours UT to refresh, and the book's cell 600 hours UT to spawn. A vacation on Venus should do it.
Compatibility
This mod only edits one thing in the base game: placing a book in Apex Electronics. Everything else: the mines, their mechanics, and their crafting is entirely custom. Should be compatible with any mod.

Brigs. Your ship has them, you can't use them. But why? I don't know. Cut content? Future content? Perchance. Useful Brigs aims to make brigs, well... useful.
