Apparel & Spacesuit Transmogrification
By ANDREWCX
Community Rating
Apparel & Spacesuit Transmogrification adds the ability to alter the visual appearance while worn of most Apparel and Spacesuits from the base game of Starfield. Items can be modified (at no material cost) at Spacesuit workbenches via the Skins category, allowing them to take on the visual appearance selected without altering any statistical aspects such as weight, bonuses, or protective values.
Appearance options are grouped as follows:
- Standard Apparel – clothing items that does not cover the head.
- Hats and Headwear – clothing items that cover the head only.
- All-In-One Apparel – clothing items that cover both the body and the head such as Hazmat suits.
- Modular Spacesuits – spacesuits that cover the body and do not include Helmets or Boostpacks.
- Modular Boostpacks – separate boost packs.
- Modular Helmets – separate spacesuit helmets.
- Starborn Spacesuits
Transmogrification is available within each group in most cases (for instance a Bounty Hunter Spacesuit can take on the appearance of a Ranger Spacesuit or a Pirate Corsair Spacesuit while a Starborn Spacesuit can take on the appearance of any of the other styles of Starborn Spacesuit).
A Handful of modified appearance options are also available. These are indicated by the abbreviation AST at the end of their name.
In addition to the transmogrification options available a small number of Bonus Weapon Skins are also included. These are skins from unique items (typically quest rewards) that are not ordinarily available for use on other weapons of the same type.
NOTES
- The world model (appearance of the item when dropped in the world or otherwise not worn by the player character or companion) and inventory model of items remains unchanged so Apparel and Spacesuits will still use the suitcase default models while Hats, Helmets and Boostpacks will appear as the non-transmogrified item (except where the transmogrification is a color variation of the same model) except when actually equipped.
- While the vast majority of base game items are available for transmogrification a handful of quest related items are not to ensure gameplay stability.
- The transmogrification of items is for the players visual benefit only. NPC reactions (if any) will still be based on the true items worn and not the visual appearance adopted.
