VCO FacePack (1 of 3)
Community Rating
These are more NPC faces and heads built for my Vitruvian Character Overhaul mod. If you are noticing neckseams on shirtless NPCs or characters not looking as nice as you or your companions, then these packs are for you. All three will take up ~3.6GB so, it is optional and here for visual consistency. The core VCO creation covers faces for companions and other more 'important' NPCs.
If you're unfamiliar with the term 'FaceGen' it is simply this: you know how you create your character, with all your selected facial sliders, hair, and makeup ? Well, NPCs use that same exact system, and Bethesda's 'pre generates' them based on their assigned sliders in their engine, and these faces are in the base game files. This is an optimization technique. However, if you want to mod the body textures, your choices are to either try to match vanilla as close as possible or, use custom textures and update the faces for all NPCs for neck and body consistency if you want to increase detail. If your body textures don't match the head, you will see a mismatch between the body and the head, as they are considered separate pieces of the character. Vanilla textures are designed for performance on all platforms before they are designed for visuals, VCO is designed specifically for newer consoles and PCs, however the textures are the same size as vanilla on Creations so you should not see a performance hit.
