The Starfield awaits

Just wanted to post again after being quiet too long. Lots of things going on lately.

Everyone else enjoying Starfield? I had created a new, achievement-friendly character a week or two before the big release on April 7 then learned I'd need to be near level 50 to start the Terran Armada storyline. I played a lot to reach that level, played it, and then gradually got burnt out after a couple of disappointments.

I don't usually care at all about achievements in games, but my love of Starfield had carried me to 100% the achievements in the base game + Shattered Space. It was fun and some of them exposed me to parts of the game I had not given much attention. The new achievements added with Free Lanes + Terran Armada are interesting, but one bugged on me (leaving the party cruise) and another (the action figure collection) would take ages to complete without some of the grindy exploits I've seen some share. I tried making progress toward the Delta achievements only to start really disliking Delta as a companion.

So I'm going to forget about achievements on my next Starfield journey and start a non-achievement friendly character again (adding back a few mods I have sorely missed). I just haven't decided the angle I'll want to take on it yet. That new Headhunter mod looks interesting, so I might base the character around it.

In the meantime, my day job has kept me busy and I've been playing a bit of Domekeeper and Forza Horizon 6 while finishing a read of the first Old Man's War book trilogy and resuming a bit of Dungeon Crawler Carl (just started book 5).

What has everyone else been doing in and out of Starfield? Anything else you'd want to see on the site next?

Still enjoying playing Starfield almost everyday. It's my comfort game, haha. Just passed the 2.5k mark earlier this week.

Finally beat the main story of Shattered Space with my main character and getting her ready for Terran Armanda. She finally got her first x-tech and figurine not too long ago, since Va'ruun'kai doesn't spawn such loot. Now it's time to make those rifles of hers crazy strong. In the same vein, I enjoyed my time with Shattered Space immensely, so I've decided to make a Varuun-themed character based out of Neon and enjoy more immersion alongside the dlc. I liked how he turned out so much so that I ended giving him a more fleshed-out backstory and personality.

Been figuring out ways to make more money as usual. I know Terran Armanda is where its at, but I got other sources of income proving to be decently reliable and perfect for early-game gains. Also tried out a new LO and its proving to be great so far. Can't wait to add more mods I've been eyeing when the time comes.

Thanks for checking in and sharing your latest play throughs! I enjoyed Shattered Space more with my 2nd play of it. If you want more Va'ruun-based quests, I highly recommend Project Viper - a free mod that really expands a lot on the Va'ruun zealot culture. Just be aware that its difficulty is much higher than you'd expect. I'd recommend taking them on with extra followers to help.

I recently updated my LO to fully achievement-friendly so I could drop back into my original character from when Starfield first launched. I had left it on level 144 after using it to 100% the pre-April achievements. I'll try my hand with the character to continue getting the new achievements.

I also noticed I crossed the 1600-hour mark on my play in Starfield (which spans at least a dozen different characters).

On my Starfield journey so far, have been modding and barely playing the game. I want to! Recently I created a new modpack as mo2 instance, but my previous save seems to be broken on it; I don't require any troubleshooting help, just a funny thing: My companion was t-posing instead of normal animations! Hopefully, when I'll find a way to fix it, I'll play the game again, but for now - back to modding it.

Welcome to the site! Glad to hear about your experiences. Feel free to post any pics you'd want to share here in the forums or the Photos section. That sounds like something funny to see. Otherwise, I hope you're able to resolve that soon so you can play and mod. πŸ˜€
