Impact of Character Trait: Serpent's Embrace

Not long ago, I started yet another character named Hawk. With him, I intentionally chose the character trait, Serpent's Embrace. This makes your character a believer in the Great Serpent along with other members of the Va'ruun faction.

Spoilers ahead!

I wanted to see what the impact of making that choice was on my character's journey. I'm now around level 45, and I've mostly chosen to ignore the main quest line. I did up to the point of getting the first Starborn power. To my surprise, the funniest impact has been the first quest with Sarah to obtain the artifact from the Vanguard pilot, Moara. The quest takes us to the orbit of Venus where we would normally try to silently sneak past Va'ruun ships to a satellite beacon. However, as another believer, the dialogue gives us the choice to share that belief with Sarah and ask her to recite scripture over a broadcast. Hearing Sarah speak in a Va'ruun accent was worth picking the trait! 🤣

Later, of course, I wanted to see what the impact of the trait was for building affinity with Andreja. I haven't gotten far on it quite yet, but her confession of being from House Va'ruun gives you the opportunity to admit you share the same faith. It wasn't quite as impactful as I thought, but I expect/hope the romance/marriage quest unfolds a bit different since there will not be the same hesitation about her religious belief being different.

Lastly, I'll have to update this thread later once I've tried Shattered Space with this trait. Honestly, I was not a fan of having to join their faith after landing in Dazra. Maybe the trait will help me bypass that sequence, or maybe they'll just ask me to "recommit" to the faith. We'll see.
