This creation requires Legacy's End - Wild Card as a dependency (it's free). LegacysEndWildcard.esm has to load above this in your load order.

Overview

Legacy's End - Wild Card is an alternate ending to the Crimson Fleet questline, where you keep Kryx's Legacy for yourself. This is an add-on to it that allows Estelle Vincent to be recruited as a companion afterwards, provided 2 conditions are met:

  • You never turned in the evidence against Estelle to Lieutenant Toft - the data slate named "The Big Score."
  • Estelle must survive the events of Legacy's End - Wild Card.

The only reliable way to make sure Estelle survives is to bring an EM weapon and knock her out as soon as you encounter her. There will be multiple other NPCs nearby who will be friendly to you, and hostile to her, so you'll have to be quick about it. If you're using a Novablast Disruptor, remember that it can be charged by holding down the fire button.

After you have knocked Estelle out, and progressed Legacy's End - Wild Card past a certain point, a quest called "The Fate of Estelle Vincent" will start automatically. It will be available regardless of which ending you achieve in Wild Card.

To recruit Estelle as a companion, you will need to:

  • Have at least 1 rank in the Persuasion skill
  • OR have at least 1 rank in the Manipulation skill
  • OR give her a significant amount of money

Details

If you have one of the 4 main Constellation companions with you, they will interject and talk to Estelle during her recruitment scene.

If you have sided with either SysDef or the Crimson Fleet in previous universes, you will have an option for unique Starborn dialogue at a certain point.

Given the events that transpire during Legacy's End - Wild Card, Estelle will not be interested in romance. She also won't give you credits periodically, as she does in the Crimson Fleet version of this creation. There's a lore reason for this, and it's explained during her personal quest.

If you don't assign Estelle to a ship or outpost, she will go to the Neon Trade Authority. She can be found either inside it, or just outside it in the alleyway.

Accessing Estelle's Personal Quest

Given the context in which you recruit Estelle and the events that transpire immediately after you do, you will be locked out of asking her any questions until you both exit the cell and go somewhere else.

Once you have exited the cell, you will have a dialogue option to ask Estelle questions, which includes an option to talk about the evidence against her. The dialogue about evidence will only show up if you actually have it in your inventory. If you never picked it up in the first place, you will have to go back to Madame Sauvage's Place in Neon and pick up the evidence. It's in the backroom, on the nightstand next to the bed.

Once you have chosen the dialogue option to talk about the evidence with Estelle, a short conversation will follow, and she will take the data slate from you. After this happens, let 24 hours of universal time pass. Then, the next time you talk to Estelle, she will give you a data slate of her own, and a quest called "Wild Card - Loose Ends" will start. Estelle isn't technically locked in as a companion during this quest, but if you try to ditch her and do it on your own, she will invite herself to the party when the time is right.

Installation and Compatibility

This can be installed at any time prior to starting Legacy's End - Wild Card. Again, it has to load below LegacysEndWildcard.esm in your load order.

If you install this on an existing save where you have already completed the Wild Card ending, there is not a way to get Estelle as a companion retroactively, short of starting a NG+.

This is fully compatible with other creations which allow multiple followers at the same time.

The creations Non-Lethal Framework and Useful Brigs are not included as dependencies, so it is not possible to account for all of the possible outcomes that they could introduce. Do not attempt to send Estelle to your brig. This will most likely break her quest.

Load Order With the Crimson Fleet Version

This creation works independently of my other Estelle companion mod, which covers the Crimson Fleet ending. You can have them both installed at the same time, with one small caveat regarding load order. Since both creations edit the same affinity events (affinity events are what allow Estelle to comment on things like picking locks, doing drugs, etc.) they are not completely load order neutral with each other.

If you plan on going for the Wild Card ending, load this below the Crimson Fleet version, and vice versa if you plan on going for the Crimson Fleet ending.
