Isekai Protagonist Perk and Backgrounds Bundle

THIS IS A HEAVY CHEAT PERK SYSTEM OVERHAUL COMPILATION, for standalone use. You CAN use it with Shattered Space and it will work fine, but Shattered Space is not required to use this mod.
Adds three OP backgrounds and three OP traits, with isekai RP flavoring, for use in character creation. More importantly, adds several new skill perks, bug-fixes and spell-checking for several others, and tweaks the effects of nearly all of the vanilla perk-skills.
This mod primarily puts more power into the buffs at rank 1 of each skill, so you don't feel so weak in the early part of the game. But nearly all the skills have been buffed so you also get more power once you reach higher levels!!! And you get three new backgrounds that each give you MORE THAN 30 starting skills. Plus optional traits you can pick that make you even more powerful. So please be advised: this mod is VERY MUCH a CHEAT MOD. But it is mostly lore friendly, and it does not add any new locations, quests, items, ships, or followers.
NOTE: DO NOT use this with my other isekai backgrounds mod, it will duplicate the backgrounds and you won't be able to tell which is which. DELETE my other mod before you enable this one.
What is "isekai?" In some Japanese manga and anime, there is a genre called "isekai" which loosely translates to "magically transported to another world." In most (not all) of these stories, the main character either dies of "overwork" when they pass out at their office desk... or they rescue a child from a drunk driver only to be hit by the truck themself. Then they meet god (could be THEIR specific god or guardian angel, the God who oversees Earth or their homeworld, or a God of another world) who apologizes for the inconvenience of death, and allows them to reincarnate for a fresh start... in another world. This other world is USUALLY (not always) a magical fantasy adventure sort of place with heroes, fairies, dragons, and demon-lords. Sometimes, however, it is a near-modern version of Earth; or the main character gets sent forward in time in their own world.
So how is this mod "isekai" then? So I thought, for a game where NewGame+ is essentially finding a scientific way (ancient alien artifacts) to isekai yourself into another universe, where you then adopt the identity of the you that SHOULD live there, losing everything but your memory and skills in the process... it would be a bit silly to add some backgrounds, traits, and skills that make it feel like you were living a full life elsewhere before the start of a fresh new game, then you died, and God magically sent you HERE for a new life... where you keep your old memories and skills but NOTHING else at the start of the game. And then after bouncing around the galaxy for a while, you land yourself a part-time job with Argos Extractors because, well, you need the money and nobody else would hire you. Now as you go through this new life, you will develop some skills that eventually make you OP - just like the hero of many Japanese isekai adventure stories.
What this mod does
Designed to give you a MUCH faster start, by providing new backgrounds that add an insane number of skills right after you create your character, new traits that beef up a variety of in-game parameters by about 10% each, beefing the existing skill set so that as you grow you will get considerably stronger, and adding a handful of new skills that make sense if you want to become an OP god among men by level 35.
Combines the effects from 22 individual mods (none made by me, but used with permission) as well as some of my original work (well, as original as you can be when editing pre-made vanilla video game files), into a SINGLE DOWNLOADABLE MOD FILE. I made this mod to help keep my load order list a little shorter, cleaner, and better organized. But also to add some slight RP flavor and more OP quality to my game.
No master requirements, can be used standalone. Classified as a "small master" with the annoying "blueprints..." master removed.
Does NOT require Constellation or Shattered Space DLC... but will work just as well with neither, one, or both of them. The only requirement is the base game.
Adds THREE new backgrounds to the game, based on "isekai" RP themes. These incorporate some of the NEW and EDITED skills from this mod, too. Each one is VERY overpowered, granting you approximately 50 (rank 1) skills during character creation - effectively giving you a 40-something skillpoint head start compared to the vanilla game. You won't get ALL the skills this way, each of the three collections is still mainly focused on a single theme:
starship design and flight
ground combat capability
science & exploration, and crafting more efficiently.
You can still only choose ONE background... unless you have another mod (or console code) that allows more.
Adds THREE new traits to the game, based on "isekai" RP themes. These are MEDIUM-LEVEL cheat power. Each one gives you some significant, but not totally balance-breaking, buffs.
One set is for RP as an "underground starship racer" with boosted ship speed and maneuverability.
Another is set for RP as a "genius scientist" with buffs for crafting efficiency and such.
And the third is setup for a "super soldier" with ground-combat buffs.
You can mix and match the traits, to design your own RP flavor! Or ignore them and stick with the vanilla if you think they're too strong.
You can still only choose up to THREE traits... unless you have another mod (or console codes) to give you more.
Adds ELEVEN new skill perks to make you stronger, faster, wiser, wilier, and wealthier.
Arsenal: bigger gun magazines (more ammo per reload).
Battlefield Mastery: more XP from killing enemies.
Combined Arms Mastery: when you get rank 4 in ballistics, lasers, and particle weapons... do more damage with ALL weapons.
Assault Accelerant: move faster for a few seconds after each kill.
Ship Weapon Recharger: reload/recharge your starship's weapons faster.
Investment: By reaching certain financial milestones, you can entice merchants to carry more credits.
Home Team: get better at combat when you have a companion following you.
Mindfulness: increase your resistance to EM damage.
Athletics: increased movement speed and jump height.
Blessing: gives a bit more O2 and carry weight.
Particle Beams: increased combat ability with Particle Beam weapons.
Updates MOST of the vanilla skill perks to boost their effects even higher. Primary focus on these is to make the first rank feel more significant, though several now have additional effects and stronger buffs at ranks 2-4 as well.
Tweaks the default setting for "selling amount" from 12.5% of an item's base value, to 25%. So selling your junk doesn't feel quite so pointless now.
ALL of these changes ONLY affect your player's stats, I have not tweaked the NPC's or companion/followers at all.
I also have NOT tweaked the Starborn powers or any perks for those at all.
Please ONLY use this mod with a NEW GAME. If you run it with a NG+ start, or a previously saved game in progress, do so at your own risk.
If you do try starting from a saved game, then you will probably need to use console commands to reset all your skills to rank 0 and then use your skill points to reassign them manually, in order for the edited skills to work properly. And to get one of the new backgrounds or traits you'll need to use console commands.
CONFLICTS
This mod will conflict with any of the "original" mods that inspired it (see the Nexus website for a list), if you place them BELOW this one in the load order their effects will overwrite this mod. Placing them ABOVE this one will not cause any problems, but this mod's effects will then overwrite theirs.
This mod will conflict with my other one - "3 Isekai Protagonist Backgrounds" - because it uses the same names for the backgrounds, but different editor ID tags so it will look like you have duplicate background options. This makes it impossible to guess which one you're clicking on during character creation, could be this one or could be that version, there will be one of each version on the list but you can't tell which is which. That version gives you FEWER starting skills, and does NOT make use of the NEW skills added by this mod (you'll have to add skill points to them yourself if you want the new skills). So I recommend NOT using both this mod and my other one; pick one and disable or delete the other.
ANY other mod that alters perk skills, vendor credits, botany/zoology/geology item collection rewards, or sneak/camouflage/chameleon mechanics WILL conflict.
NOT RECOMMENDED FOR USE WITH A PREVIOUSLY STARTED GAME. Please only use this with a NEW GAME.
I will NOT provide support for pre-existing saved games.
