Horizontal Boost Pack Substitute

Have you ever wanted to travel a little more swiftly when using your boost pack? Are you playing on Xbox, and feeling left out due to the lack of an Alt Jump horizontal boost mechanic? Would you like to move very quickly, but only when you decide to? Then this is the mod for you.

In front of the bed in your room at the Lodge, you'll find a mysterious box that contains a most impressive set of jewelry items - Horizontal Boost Pack Substitute rings!

Simply equip one of the rings, and use any boost pack normally. A split second after the first boost, your horizontal movement speed will be increased, and this will persist for two seconds after each boost or until you land on the ground. Each ring provides a different speed increase, so you can try them all and decide which you prefer, or use each situationally.

Notes:

If you also use my Infinite Boost Pack mod, you can travel vast distances at the speed of your choice, without the need for a vehicle.

Horizontal Boost Pack Substitute rings take up no armor slot, so you can wear other rings and clothing items at the same time.

Equipping more than one ring at a time will stack their effects; this will likely result in more horizontal boost speed than you bargained for, but that's all up to you.

There is sometimes a small delay before the speed increase is disabled after you land. It's generally very brief (less than half a second), and only occurs occasionally. It's also much less noticeable with lower speed rings.
