JWGAMING - Constellation+Elite Crew Member Location Markers
By JWGamingPC
Community Rating
Oftentimes I ask myself - "Where's Sarah on this bloody ship?" or "Andreja - WHERE are you hiding?".
This mod will activate location markers for all hired (or soon-to-be-hired), "named" crew members, including the following:
--CONSTELLATION MEMBERS-- Andreja, Barrett, Sam Coe, Sarah Morgan, and Vasco.
--NAMED ELITE CREW MEMBERS-- Adoring Fan, Amelia Earhart, Andromeda Kepler, Autumn MacMillan, Betty Houser, Dani Garcia, Erick Von Price, Ezekiel, Gideon Aker, Hadrian, Heller, Jessamine Griffin, Lin, Lyle Brewer, Marika Boros, Mathis Castillo, Mickey Caviar, Moara Otero, Muria Siarkiewicz, Omari Hassan, Rafael Aguerro, Rosie Tannehill, Simeon Bankowski, and Sophia Grace.
Just hire these companions and their marker quest will fire-up -- no new game required, and it works for current, living crew regardless of their assignment. You can toggle the markers on/off in your ACTIVITY log.
Once a character is hired, you will receive a tablet from them that lets you toggle the actual marker quest itself ON or OFF in order to manage your ACTIVITY log from getting too lengthy. Each time you open the slate — for example, “Barrett - Toggle Marker Quest” — it will tell you whether their marker quest is currently ON or OFF and would you like to disable/enable it. Disabling the quest will remove it from ACTIVITY Log, enabling it will switch the marker back on and adding it to the ACTIVITY log.
Also, when the mod is first fired-up, a separate slate will be added to your inventory that provides a full list of hireable, elite crew members and their default locations. Keep in mind though - you might have to complete certain quests to aquire them at the locations on the list. To some having such a list might break immersion, and for others it could be a useful resource - so, use if you want or don't use it at all. Currently this slate/note is non-droppable.
KNOWN ISSUES None yet that I know of as of the latest update. I'm still testing this myself too.
PLEASE NOTE
- This mod will not work for any of the un-named hire-ables (ie. misc "specialists"). It is only set up for "named" actors that appear in the lists above. Just wanted to clarify.
- This mod does not include companions from the Shattered Space and Terran Armada DLCs. I made separate mods for each DLC with tracking support so you will have to download each of those separetly for those characters.
- This mod has been redone as a standalone and no longer tampers or "hooks" code into main quest script fragments. If you are having issues at all then you could try to reset the mod. To reset mods, you usualy just have to follow the DISABLE/SAVE/ENABLE/LOAD rule. Disable the mod in your load order, then open your game save - you might get some prompts telling you the mod is missing and which load order to use. Once your game opens, save it and close out. Now go back to the load order and re-enable the mod, then load your latest save. The mod should reset and activate those hired already.

2.22* More tweaking of the scripts
* Added loadscreens but they may not appear too often. -
2.21* Made some changes/tweaks to the scripts to make sure they fire as intended and is NG+ compatible. Changed the status of the mod to be a Work in Progress.
-
2.2* Updated the quest toggle script to be a standalone script, keeping it separate from the DLC versions of the mod. Before, the DLC versions were using the same script as the core mod which could cause conflicts if I made changes to it in the core mod, and not in the DLC mods. Now each version of the mod uses their own, standalone scripts.
* The marker's quest toggle script now uses a message box/selection instead of a simple toggle when the tablet is read. Intent was to make it easier for the player to know the status of marker's quest and to make a choice. -
2.1* Fixed an issue with Rafael Aguerro's marker quest not firing at all when you recruit him in New Atlantis. So, he works now! Only this is that his marker quest fires in early dialog when you've met up with him in New Atlantis. So much like Amelia Earhart's marker quest, his fires before you actualy "hire" him in New Atlantis.
-
2.00* Each follower will add a slate to your inventory that will allow you to toggle the marker quest ON or OFF in case you don't want to have a lengthy Activity log.
* For now, I made the Elite Crew Member List as an undroppable item so you can't lose it. For now, if you're one of those who don't want it in their inventory then you're stuck with it for now. I'll release a better option at some point.
* Marker support for both DLC crew members has not been included with this mod but will be available as separate downloadable mods. -
1.00* This release adds a marker for Muria Siarkiewicz.
* This mod has been redone and no longer tampers with main quest script fragments. It is now a standalone to its own scripts.
* With the mod's redo, a slate will still be added to the players inventory, providing a list of hirable crew members and their locations - but the slate no longer serves as a debugging tool as it did in previous versions.
* This release makes the mod available to new Playstation players - welcome to the Starfield! -
1.00* Updated Hadrian's marker - it wasn't firing at the correct moment but should be fixed now. Her marker should now activate after you officially add her as a member of your crew following the completion of the UC quest and speaking to Percival about adding her as a crew member.
-
1.2* Ezekiel's location marker quest should be working now; It would not fire once he's hired. The issue? His objective index was set to 0 and should have been 10.
* The Elite Crew Member list that displays on the debug slate excluded Lyle Brewer. He has now be added to the list. -
1.1* Corrected the location marker quest name for Erick Von Price: was displaying as "Location: ErickVon Price" and is now displayed as "Location: Erick Von Price".
* Location marker quests will now mark as completed for whoever dies at the end of the quest "High Price to Pay". -
1.00* Fixed the quest name for Erick Von Price: was displaying as Location: ErickVon Price and is now displayed as Location: Erick Von Price.
