Starborn Archives adds up to 200 collectible cards throughout the Settled Systems, but this is not just a card collection.

Find cards as loot, buy individual cards from vendors, purchase booster packs and sealed boxes, or take them from defeated enemies. Every card depicts a creature, character, item, location or supernatural power from this universe or another.

Once you become Starborn, most cards can be used to trigger an effect. Cards function similarly to consumable Aid items or magical scrolls: summon creatures, allies and alternate-universe characters, create ammunition, resources, food and equipment, teleport across the battlefield, open two-way portals to major cities, unlock nearby doors, containers and terminals, gain temporary abilities, and more.

Used cards are normally consumed, so you must decide whether to preserve your collection, trade valuable duplicates or spend them when their power is needed.

What gameplay loop to expect: Find or buy cards and build your collection. Craft binders and boxes to store them in your ship or at your outpost. Use the cards to solve problems, travel or fight. Increase your Unity Resonance to strengthen card effects. Carry the cards in your inventory through the Unity. Search the next universe for cards you are still missing.

Some cards are Common tools. Others are powerful Rare or Legendary cards. Unique cards can normally appear only once per universe, giving you a reason to continue exploring the multiverse.

Carrying cards may also attract rival Starborn collectors. Defeat them to claim the cards they were carrying.

They look like nothing special. Just collectible art cards. Each one depicts a fragment of reality: a creature, a place, an item… Some things and some people you know, and some you don’t.

For most people, they’re uninteresting. Just collectibles. Lore on cardboard. But for the Starborn? They’re everything.

Starborn Archives cards are more than relics. They are keys, to summon and to vanish, to transmute and to unlock, to twist fate. They are the true currency of the Unity, the reason Starborn risk betrayal, madness, and death. Because once awakened, you see them for what they really are: power.

As your collection grows, so does your arsenal. The only question is: will you master the Archives… or will they master you?
