The goal of Binford Industrial Weapons is to turn the industrial tools the game provides into the high level machines of devastation they were meant to be. No longer will heavy weapons be overlooked, cast aside for something new and shiny that has lots of useless customization options. In fact, almost all those useless customization options from your favorite "actual" weapons are now available for the cutter, arc welder, auto rivet, and plasma cutter. There's even a new minigun receiver with no charging time, as well as depleted uranium rockets/grenades for the negotiator and bridger.
Updated Added new barrels, grips, muzzles, etc. to the Microgun and Magstorm. They're not tools, but this seemed to be the appropriate place to give them some love...
Additional update: Figured out how to get quality levels to be craftable for the Cutter/Plasma Cutter. Added new versions of elemental legendary effects for continuous fire beam weapons (Arc Welder, Cutter, Plasma Cutter); the "Binford" versions should not cause the weapons to stop firing when applying a damaging effect (these effects have been removed and the direct damage slightly increased). Added One Inch Punch to the MagStorm and Microgun, as well as Elemental to the MagStorm, plus some other additions...
New receivers/mags include:
Max Watt - increased damage/range Overcharged - explosive, slower rate of fire EM - think cattle prod, not 9v on the tongue... Gravity - Arc welder converted to cleaning duty...sweeping is for suckers... Penetrator rivets - less affected by gravity, pierce targets, big damage Nails - multiple projectiles, bleed, decreased range
Balance: These are balanced on extreme difficulty with Dynamic Universe; if playing on lower difficulties, or without an enemy scaling mod, I hope you enjoy pwning things. Comparing fully modded weapons from this mod to other weapons might make them seem overpowered if only damage values are considered. However, range, reload spead, and accuracy can become major issues, depending on your choices. They do big damage when they hit, but they're still bulky and unwieldy tools.
Known issues: .The arc welder Black Hole Sun receiver does not vibrate the controller while charging; still searching for a fix.
Compatibility: Will require a patch for any mod that edits the cutter, arc welder, auto rivet, or plasma cutter for the full range of attachments; otherwise, attachments will only be available for default attachment slots than have crafting recipes.
