Overview This mod visually transforms two volcanic biomes — VolcanicRoughNoLife09 and VolcanicRoughNoLife10 — into colourful, vibrant volcanic environments. These biomes are unique because they can contain large bodies of water, allowing for dramatic volcanic lakes, mineral pools, and fissured terrain.
The mod acts as a skin pack, changing only the visuals. Gameplay systems such as flora, fauna, resources, keywords, and quests remain untouched.
On moons capable of supporting water, the mod introduces turquoise volcanic mineral pools and lakes, creating striking, exotic landscapes.
An optional file is available to make three moons more suitable for outposts by adjusting their planetary characteristics (oxygen atmosphere, safe water, strong magnetosphere).
Biome Details VolcanicRoughNoLife09 Contains large lakes, mountains, and colourful volcanic terrain. Found on:
Groombridge VIII‑d (oxygen atmosphere, heavy metal water, no magnetosphere)

Bardeen I (inferno planet, no water)
VolcanicRoughNoLife10 Added in Version 1.1. Contains large lakes, small cellular pools, fissured terrain, and colourful volcanic textures. Found on:
Huygen VII‑a (nitrogen atmosphere, biological water, no magnetosphere)

In general, I love all these visual creations starfield201 is helping port from Nexus. Of all the recent ones, I was most excited about this Vibrant Volcanic landscape. Unfortunately, it's just not what I expected. It seems to vary greatly from the thumbnails. The turquoise water is beautiful, but I didn't find any instances of it as nicely laid out as its thumbnail. Most were little more than large puddles. The most glaring texture, though, is the mustard yellow/brown that appears way more prominently than the creations's thumbnails. I visited the first two locations mentioned in the description, and it looks like a giant amount of peanut butter exploded over the planet. I linked one photo on this site that shows a bit of it. I think the ground texture needs to be toned back and made more much more subtle. If they did that, and perhaps I got better luck on my maps, this would be worth keeping. As it stands, I'll probably be removing this one from my load order.
