Overview Porrima IV‑d is one of Starfield’s most scenic moons, tidally locked to the gas giant Porrima IV. Its Swamp Biome is a rare wetland in a snowy region, but the default terrain suffers from mismatched ice shards, repetitive snow textures, and unsafe “biological” water.
This mod completely transforms the moon’s Swamp Biome into a stunning Ice Sheet — a vast frozen plain with meltwater pools, floating ice, and crystal‑clear water. The biome is renamed to Ice Sheet to reflect its new identity.
The goal is to make Porrima IV‑d a memorable destination for exploration or outpost building, especially for players who enjoy cold‑climate environments.
The mod acts as a visual skin pack. Aside from changing the water type via a keyword swap, it does not modify flora, fauna, resources, other keywords, or quests.
Biome Details Ice Sheet (formerly Swamp Biome) A frozen landscape featuring solid ice terrain, meltwater pools, and floating ice formations.
Key Notes The moon is tidally locked — land on the side facing Porrima IV for a constant view of the gas giant.
The Ice Sheet biome covers only a small portion of the moon.
Procedural generation may produce Ice Sheet tiles without water; locating water tiles may require multiple landings.
Visual Changes Terrain Retextures Snow replaced with solid ice
Crisp, crunchy ice surfaces suitable for crampons or ice skates
Clean, unified frozen terrain without mismatched ice shards
Water Changes Water is now safe for swimming
Floating ice added for visual depth
Water clarity significantly improved
Meltwater pools appear more natural and inviting
Gameplay Notes Only the water keyword is changed; all other gameplay systems remain untouched
Flora, fauna, quests, resources, and keywords are unchanged
Resource veins remain
Outpost harvesters unaffected
POI‑linked rocks and vents may still appear
The biome’s small size makes exploration and landing strategy important
Exploration Tips Make a hard save while in orbit
Land specifically in the Ice Sheet biome (avoid Coast and transition zones)
After landing, check the surface map for water tiles
If no water is present:
Fast travel to another Ice Sheet biome, or
Reload the hard save and land elsewhere
Terrain tiles may be mirrored or rotated — pattern matching helps locate shallow meltwater pools
Compatibility & Load Order This mod edits the following vanilla biome record:
