Additional Ship Components DEIMOS STARYARDS
UPDATE 1.1 - For detailed update notes see below
This mod introduces a collection of hand-modeled ship parts designed to expand on Starfield’s modular system while staying true to the rugged, military-inspired style of the Deimos Staryards. The new parts are intended as a natural extension of the game’s visual language, offering more options for creative shipbuilding without breaking immersion.
All components are designed to be as modular as possible, allowing them to be freely combined with both vanilla parts and other mods. I focused on filling niches that felt underrepresented, such as compact pieces suited for smaller fighters and a cladding system that supports the look of larger freighters and corvettes. Whether building B-class strike craft or large haulers, these additions are intended to integrate seamlessly into your arsenal.
Availability All new parts are sold alongside regular Deimos components. You’ll find them at vendors who normally stock Deimos parts—such as Ship Technicians in New Atlantis, Cydonia, and Gagarin—and, of course, at the Deimos Staryard itself. They’re also available in the outpost shipbuilder. While I initially planned to restrict them exclusively to Deimos Staryards for lore purposes, I ultimately chose wider availability to make shipbuilding less frustrating. Some pieces remain quest-locked or level-gated to maintain progression and lore consistency (see below).
Balance The value, mass, and level requirements of these parts are in line with their vanilla counterparts to preserve balance and immersion. A small adjustment was made for some of the added structural components: they now include a hull rating to reflect their military background and light armor capacity. • Average hull addition is minor • This benefit is offset by slightly higher mass and increased cost to keep things fair. • The hull bonus is meant to be more of a narrative touch than a balance shift.
Level- or Quest-Locked Parts • Single Frequency Scan Jammer: Level 3 • Dual-Frequency Scan Jammer: Level 10, Starship Design Rank 1 • Multi-Frequency Scan Jammer: Level 16, Starship Design Rank 2 • Shield Booster: Unlocked after "Legacy's End", Starship Design Rank 1 • Targeting Sensors: Unlocked after "Legacy's End", Level 10
Additional Re-meshes This mod also includes three re-meshes of vanilla parts I felt were missing for certain builds: • [ASC-D] Pylon Type C • [ASC-D] Pylon Type D • [ASC-D] Spine Connector
Compatibility The new parts are sorted under the Structural and Equipment tabs alongside all other Deimos components. Please note that other mods altering sorting may cause some overlap depending on load order. The mod should be safe to add mid-game since nothing else is changed. If you uninstall, please take the usual precautions and make sure none of your ships are currently using the added parts. Tested on PC and Xbox Series X.
Update 1.1 Bug Fixes • UI (Shipbuilder): Added the missing Deimos logo to the “[ASC] Single Frequency Scan Jammer.” • Text (Mod Description): Corrected the quest lock condition for the “[ASC] Targeting Sensors” — now properly shown as Level 10, unlocked during “Legacy’s End.” • Bug (Snapping): Fixed misaligned snap point on the “[ASC] Armor Plating Type B-2 Cowling.” It now snaps correctly and holds attached parts. • Bug (Snapping): Added missing equipment snap points to “[ASC] Armor Plating Type C – Side Bumper A” and “[ASC] Armor Plating Type C – Side Bumper B” when fully extended outward. • Bug (Snapping): Added missing fore snap point on the port reverse “[ASC] Armor Plating B-1 Delta Bracer.” • Bug (Snapping): Fixed misalignment on the port snap point for “[ASC] Phobos Armor Type A and B,” where one point was accidentally rotated by 2 degrees. • Bug (Snapping): Corrected an issue where the fore bottom version of the “[ASC] Armor Plating Type B-1 Nose Cap” had its weapon snap point facing backward. • Bug (Shading): Fixed faulty shader assignment on the “[ASC] Armor Plating Type C – Side Bumper A” equipment plate. • Bug (Model): Fixed an issue where the bottom flip variant of the “[ASC] Spine Bottom Riser” displayed the “[ASC] Spine Bottom Intake” instead. • Bug (Shading): Insignia are now computed on a higher-cost path to help prevent flipping, which occurred in rare cases. • Bug (Shading): Fixed an issue on the “[ASC-D] Armor Plating Type B-2 – Engine Shroud” where color swaps were inconsistent.
Requested Additions and Modifications: • Added lateral snap points to the “[ASC] Armor Plating Type B-1 – Delta Bracer.” • UC insignia on port and starboard sides are now the same size. • The Type B-1 and B-2 Cowlings are now available as nose caps, listed as Nose Cap B and Nose Cap C in the structural section. • A perfectly flat variant of the "[ASC] Armor Plating Type C Top Armor"
Added Parts: A series of small fuel tanks usable as ‘functional greebles’, designed to fit perfectly with the new docking panel. They include lateral connection points and can also be mounted forward or rearward. Their size varies depending on fuel capacity: • [ASC] DE-110 He3 Fuel Tank • [ASC] DE-180 He3 Fuel Tank • [ASC] DE-510 He3 Fuel Tank
A series of smaller cargo containers designed to fit the new docking panel. These can also serve as functional greebles, offering forward, backward, port, and starboard mounting options. Their size varies by storage capacity: • [ASC] DE-C140 Cargo Container • [ASC] DE-C225 Cargo Container • [ASC] DE-C310 Cargo Container • [ASC] DE-C635 Cargo Container
A new large side panel featuring a docking panel for cargo and fuel tanks. The Deimos-series He3 tanks and cargo units fit perfectly. It also includes a central snap point for any other attachment or weapon mount. The docking panel is available in open and closed configurations: • [ASC] Deimos Armor Plating Type C – Docking Panel
A set of two new multi-role wings, usable in various configurations — to shield cargo containers, act as weapon wings with the new multi-role pylons (see below), serve as engine housings, or more. They can be extended vertically across multiple hab levels or collapsed into a thin, ‘atmospheric wing’ form. Each variant aligns with different design languages: one matching “Armor Panel Type C,” the other with the delta geometry of Armor Type B structures. Note: Wings placed on the same snap point must be merged. • [ASC] Multi-Role Wing Type A • [ASC] Multi-Role Wing Type B
Two sets of multi-role pylons designed to pair with the new wings. They come in two variants — a plain version serving as structural panel and another with weapon hardpoints, allowing the wings to function as true weapon wings. With standard snap points on both top and bottom, they can be stacked vertically or connected to other modules for maximum design flexibility: • [ASC] Multi-Role Pylon Type A • [ASC] Multi-Role Pylon Type B

Easily one of the best ship part mods in the game. I love the hardened military look of these structural pieces and what you can build with them. It takes a bit of practice to learn how they can fit together. If you buy this mod, I recommend grabbing the free ASC Deimos Ships mod to get great examples in the game of ships you can build with these parts.
