The Jaeger-556 is a highly customisable and unique belt-fed machine gun with a capacity limited only by how much ammo you can carry.

Update 1.1.1

-- Change the Thermal Scope crafting recipe to no longer use a cut item. -- Adjusted the sounds files to be more like the original release, should fix the rumble being removed completely for some people but won't add it to the weapon (it may not be possible).

Features

New Weapon: Jaeger-556 a belt fed light machine gun that was originally used on Earth in the late 20th century.

New Ammo: 5.56x45mm Linked

Animated ammo belt that will visibly deplete when running low on ammo.

Long list of attachments to tweak it to your liking.

Attachments that are only available after going through NG+ to keep the weapon relevant at higher levels but still balanced for the early game.

Levelled List Injection

Custom Sound Effects

Support for Additional Weapon Icons, available on my profile or Ammo HUD by ProfX1527.

How to Get

The weapon and ammo are added to levelled lists and can be purchased from vendors starting from level 15 and is dropped on enemies that can carry heavy weapons from level 25.

The new ammo is craftable at any industrial workbench provided you have the materials.

The ammo is cheaper and lighter than most ammunition in the game to make it more viable to carry enough to feed the weapon.

PC players can find the console command IDs using the following commands: Weapon: "help nfvc0004 4 weap" Ammo: "help nfvc0004 4 ammo"

FAQ

Does this use custom animations? Not exactly. The belt, carry handle and ejection cover are animated using the same system that the games ammo counters and some animated props use. It's a very complicated process that took a few days alone to get right but I'm really happy with the result.

What programs did you use to make this? Starfield Creation Kit and it's utilities. 3DS Max 2021 Substance Painter 2024

Can I use your belt fed animation for my creations? Absolutely, they won't work out of the box for anything else but if you want to learn how I did something in order to do it yourself you are more than welcome to take a look at how I did it.

I have a question/feedback about the creation, how do I contact you? I don't accept friend requests but feel free to send me a message request on Discord @novafinch or ping me in one of the many Starfield/Modding servers I'm in.

What's next? I have a couple of other projects in the works, one is another Old Earth weapon but the other is something larger and completely new!
