Meet Andromeda Kepler

Andromeda Kepler is a renowned scientist and explorer, known for her expertise in astrophysics and astronomy. Her name is a not-so-subtle nod to two famous space-related things: the Andromeda galaxy and Johannes Kepler, a pioneering astronomer. This gives her a bit of flair even before you talk to her.

She was once a lecturer and researcher, probably within the United Colonies or one of the academic hubs in the Settled Systems. She has a deep, almost romantic love for the cosmos and is described as someone who “gazes at the stars like they hold all the answers.” This makes her one of the more philosophical science crew members.

Andromeda is witty, driven, and idealistic. She's not hardened by the Settled Systems' politics or war in the way many other characters are. She seems to see science as a way to better understand and maybe even heal the universe. That optimism can make her feel like a breath of fresh air among more jaded characters.

She’s also one of the more eloquent characters—she has a poetic way of speaking about her work and the universe.

Though not heavily explored through personal questlines (unlike Constellation companions), her dialogue reveals that Andromeda is disillusioned with the limitations of academic life. She’s tired of theory and wants to put her knowledge to practical use—hence her desire to explore space firsthand.

There’s also a hint that she may have burned bridges in academia, either by challenging established ideas or being frustrated with bureaucratic stagnation. She’s not bitter, but she clearly longs for purpose and discovery—she wants to “chase stars, not tenure.” (Andromeda Kepler can be found in the city of Cydonia (Mars) at The Broken Spear).
