This Creation provides a terminal to facilitate a way to refund your spent skill points to re-specialize. Available on the wall in the basement of The Lodge or as a workshop buildable kiosk
Installation notes:
Create a save outside of The Lodge. If you install and then load a save while inside the lodge, the terminal won't let you interact until you leave and return.
Usage:
There is a permanent placed terminal in the basement at The Lodge. It is on the wall under the weapon rack immediately to your right after you come down the stairs. You can also find a buildable workshop item under the Miscellaneous section at outposts, on your ship, or a player home.
You interact with the terminal and choose which category of skills to refund. If you choose the "Everything" option it will take a few seconds to do its work before proceeding to the completion notice. All of the other single category options are pretty quick.
There is currently no cost to refund your points.
Reapplying a point to a previously acquired skill does not require you to do any rank up progression challenges that you may have already done.
If you have any other creations which add new skills. Those will not be touched unless a patch is made to add support for it. I have instructions on the NexusMods page https://www.nexusmods.com/starfield/mods/6484 for authors that wish to add support.
Known Issues:
- Refunding skills that were granted through quest progression or other means other than the player using skill points, will still refund skill points. However if rank challenges were not completed, then re-acquiring those skills/ranks will require completing the rank challenges as they were never initially completed.
- Certain skills when taken run a script to change variables in the background which are not changed back upon refunding the skill points. The skills in question are: Fitness, Security, Wellness, Botany, Geology, Scanning, Outpost Management, Zoology, Planetary Habitation, Outpost Engineering, Astrophysics, Surveying, Negotiation, Deception
