*** Spoilers below for those who have not completed the main mission ***
The unique properties of Chunks Special Sauce have interacted with the gravitational distortions at Nishina Research Station and created two special portals. Start the quest as usual. Follow Ethan to go see the director.
-
The first time you shift to the "Dirty Universe", turn around and there will be a distortion hovering above a stack of Chunks Special Sauce boxes. Activate the distortion to be transported to the elevator that brings you down to the Research Level. This portal is optional, and you can continue to do the first half of the mission as they both end up in the same place. !! If you use this portal it will disable the terminal computers used to save both universes. !!
-
In the "Dirty Universe", take the elevator down. When you exit the elevator, to your right there will be another distortion hovering above a stack of Chunks Special Sauce boxes. Activate the distortion to be transported to the room just outside of the main lab where the Artifact is being experimented on. Walking over to the doorway will activate the final mission tasks to shut down the test. You will have to clear out the room of the bugs in the dirty universe and the robots and turrets in the clean universe, depending on how you want to finish the mission. You can save both universes when using only portal 2.
No actual changes were made to the quest. Only activators and markers were added. Some of the mission objectives will still point you back to the beginning of the map to "Explore Ruins" but it doesn't cause a problem. The new portals will vanish after they have been used. The special sauce boxes are available to take though.
Don't get me wrong, I did enjoy the mission the first few times, but sometimes you just want to get through it faster...
Version 1.3 The text on the portal activator wasn't quite correct. Fixed and added a menu box to make things more clear.
