Features
• New regeneration-based ship power management system. • Simple auto-repair systems react to player actions via traversal or combat. • No new consumables or passive deterioration. • Compatible with everything.
Mechanics
Conversion Loss
Conversion is the proportion of your Reactor's total power output that is available to assign. Conversion Loss is triggered by various ship actions: • Performing a Grav Jump: 4 points • Interplanetary Travel: 2 point • Taking off: 1 point • Using a Ship Repair Kit: 3 points • Using all available Boost: 1 point
Repair Subroutines
Triggering Conversion Loss starts a Repair Subroutine. When a Subroutine completes, all lost Conversion will be restored. Progress of the ongoing Subroutine can be viewed in the Status Effects menu.
Subroutine Behavior
• The time it takes to complete Subroutines is increased as Conversion Loss increases. • Ongoing Subroutines are cancelled when Conversion Loss is triggered.
Nominal State
When Conversion Loss is zero (all power output is available), the Nominal Conversion state is entered: • +10% Ship Maneuverability • +15% Boost Recharge Rate • +5% Shield Damage Resistance
Critical State
Conversion can be depleted by up to 50%. When Conversion reaches this threshold, the Critical Conversion State is entered: • Repair Subroutines will no longer run. • Ship Repair Kits are reduced to 50% effectiveness. • -15% Ship Maneuverability • -30% Boost Recharge Rate • -5% Shield Damage Resistance To restore conversion, a Reboot must be triggered.
Reboot Procedure
When Conversion is Critical, land your ship or dock to a star station to begin the Reboot procedure. Reboots take several hours UT, but are completed faster in Settlements or Outposts. Leaving the surface or undocking will cancel the Reboot. No progress will be retained after cancellation and the Reboot must be restarted.
Installation
Dynamo can be installed anytime. It will begin running anytime the player has acquired a ship.
Compatibility
Dynamo is generally compatible with everything.
Configuration
Main: Enable or disable Conversion system. Notification: Choose whether Subroutines notify on start and end.
