What is it? This is a lore-friendly, RP-friendly combat vessel with worldbuilding loosely tied into the Shattered Space and Terran Armada DLC stories.

Gameplay Style: Combat/RP Combat Capability: Excellent

Worldbuilding Story: Recently, the United Colonies Cabinet called an emergency meeting with us at Evie's Ship Shop.

The Cabinet has been well aware of a major cataclysmic event within House Va'ruun space. Additionally, there have been more and more reports of aggressive attacks against the Settled Systems by a highly organized militarized fleet calling themselves, "The Terran Armada." These two major events combined threaten the already shaky peace of the Settled Systems, and the Cabinet is worried that an all out multiple-front Settled Systems-wide war may break out, and they already know that the Navy's aging leftover fleet from the Colony War, Serpent's Crusade, and Crimson Fleet campaigns are in dire need of an update.

Rather than an overhaul or a retrofit, The UC Navy offered us at Evie's Ship Shop, a ship design contract for three new military vessels. The only two stipulations they sought in the contract were:

Must contain MOSTLY Deimos Staryards, INC branded modules
All new vessels must come equipped with a genuine Evie's Ship Shop Electromagnetic Muon Mass Accelerator [EMMMA] weapon system.

Enter the Bastion-Class Battlecruiser, our third entry in our UC Naval contract series.

The UC Government tasked us with designing a ship that could conduct fleet command operations in the absence of an M-Class capital vessel. In essence: The Bastion is a miniature flag ship vessel. The Bastion was designed with interior space in mind to help facilitate this. The ship has facilities such as a sickbay, fabrication workshop, full armory, and a Combat Information Center (CIC). The CIC is a multifaceted room capable of acting as a flag bridge, command center, or fleet command post.

Due to the nature of the Bastion's role and potentially housing many strategic persons, it was important to give the Bastion some of the most advanced hull plating known to Humanity: Powered reactive armor plating fed from a Xiang Pinch 8A fusion reactor make the Bastion-Class Battlecruiser one of the most heavily armored ships in the UC Navy.

In addition to all these features, the Bastion comes equipped with a comprehensive point defense system that we have called, the "Enemy Suppression Grid (ESG)." The ESG consists of 7 Jishaku RF railgun turrets, arranged in two separate batteries. The Suppression Grid is designed to take out weaker opponents, while severely damaging and "softening up" larger or shielded targets. The ESG's idea and namesake was inspired by an Ancient Earth broadcasted science fiction television show from the early 2000s era known as "Battlestar Galactica," where the main military ship has a similar but much larger battery of point defense turrets. The ESG batteries are designed to cover the Bastion's flanks as well as approach, and operate best with a crew member specializing in Ballistic Weapon Systems.

The Bastion's primary battery is a massive spinally mounted Electromagnetic Muon Mass Accelerator or, "EMMMA." an Evie's Ship Shop exclusive weapon system. EMMMA has been included with all 3 UC navy ships in this series, however the Bastion's EMMMA is one of the most advanced designs we've done to date. Running almost the entire length of the vessel, EMMMA is not just mounted TO the ship, it's PART of the ship! That Bastion's EMMMA gun can put a beam clean through a Terran Armada capital ship!*

Exterior design-wise, we drew a TON of inspiration from yet another Ancient Earth science fiction series known as Halo. In this giant universe, exists a massive human-built military ship in excess of 1KM length called the UNSC Pillar of Autumn, a Halcyon-Class cruiser. We derived much inspiration from it's overall shape to fit in with the Bastion's unique role of interior space and having an amped up EMMMA gun. We didn't want the Bastion to be a complete knock off however, as we still wanted to keep a lot of designs from the prior two ships in the series, as well as keeping a little bit of traditional Deimos Staryards style.

As with all the new military ships in this series, the UC Cabinet has authorized these ships for sale to UC Vanguard personnel, private concerned citizens, and even folks from beyond the United Colonies' jurisdiction. They really just want Humanity to be ready for the next challenge because something big is coming.
