Hello!

Welcome to 'Ship Weapons Revised', part of the 'Starfield Revised' Series. Which aims to bring balance to our gameplay across the settled systems.

What does this mod do?

This is a pretty large mod, well, larger than my others in comparison. Get locked in.

TLDR;

  • Rebalances ship weapons across classes
  • Adds new firing types (Burst, Beam lasers, Hellfire missiles etc..)
  • Adjusts level and perk requirements
  • Detailed descriptions for each weapon

Further Details

Ship weapons revised rebalances ship weapons across all classes. All class A, B and C weapons will perform similar to one another within their respective ranks. But with this mod, there is a clear difference in between classes. B is better than A, and C is better than B.

However, there is a much smaller difference between a class B and C weapon, than there is between A and B.

I did this because I know people will still want to build smaller form and faster ships using Class B reactors and such. But I also wanted to ensure the slower more bulky C class ships will keep up by giving them more damage.

With this said, you absolutely still can use C class weapons and get by just fine, nimbleness is your friend here!

There are also varying fire types, we have burst fire, fully auto (and I mean full auto. up to x3 vanilla fire rates), beam lasers and even hellfire missiles! This means that there is some gameplay differences between weapons and you can experiment with what fits you best, want a small fighter than does high DPS burst fire jousting runs? Or maybe a beam lasering dogfighter? This mod has you covered.

That's not all! I have also adjusted the levels and ranks required to get your hands on the new toys. There are 2 'tiers' in each class. tier 2 will be outright better than tier 2 in this case. But that's to give a sense of progression and not have the player blasting absolutely anything that crosses their path at level 3.

Class C: Tier 1 - Level 1 Tier 2 - Level 25

Class B: Tier 1 - Level 15 Tier 2 - Level 40

Class C: Tier 1 - Level 30 Tier 2 - Level 50

But that's not all! I also went ahead and updated the descriptions for each weapon, which also includes mag size and reload times, so you can really dive into those stats!

BUT THAT'S NOT ALL! This mod also takes inspiration from 'Elite Dangerous' in terms of damage types, so lasers for shields, and ballistic for hull, if you want the best of both, you can use particle weapons and explosives, so all the weapon types have their own little niche now!

THAT'S STILL NOT ALL! I also adjusted damage ranges, overall everything shoots much further, Railguns especially!

I did not alter prices of ship weapons, that means any economy mods you might have will play nicely!

As a final note, I highly recommend using a mod that enhances the shield strength of ships, like this! Combat will be very quick with this mod. Unless that's what you want then go for it! Just remember the NPC's have these weapons too ;)

You can also use a mod like this to give the hull a bit of a boost too!
