A Staple Addition
Community Rating
A Staple Addition takes the Staple Gun prop item and replaces every one of them with a functional and highly collectable weapon!
We rebuilt the staple gun and created a procedural cosmetic system, meaning there are thousands of possible combinations to find - every one of them a potential weapon to take into combat.
Our staple gun now has fully modelled internal mechanisms, visible within clear-plastic casings in a medley of colors. The regular, solid outer casing also has numerous color variations, all with different levels of wear and tear. Stapler guns can be found adorned with dozens of combinations of stickers and labels, representing various different factions, companies and more, as though customized by the people whose staplers these may once have been - before you came along and borrowed them. Perhaps a savage pirate of the Crimson Fleet, or a member of the Freestar Collective? Maybe a disgruntled union miner, or just a lover of Terrabrew coffee? Depending where you are in the Settled Systems influences the sort of staple guns you might find. Exploration is highly rewarded! Additionally, the color of the rubber grips can be customized for that personal touch and preferred visual flare!
Ammunition can be crafted at the workbenches from aluminum.
There is also a special unique staple gun to discover, and we’ll be adding more.
This is the introduction of the Staple Gun as a functional weapon in the Starfield universe. Combat enhancements and even more cosmetic variations are in the works.
With the visual variety on offer for aspiring collectors, we hope you enjoy this Staple Addition!
TL;DR
- The staple gun misc/junk items have been replaced across the settled systems with functional weapon
- Procedural cosmetics appearances, each unique to the playthrough save file.
- Ammo can be crafted from workbenches.
- Continued improvements/development.
THINGS TO BE AWARE OF:
-
This mod replaces all of the existing staple guns in the game. As such, be careful combining any mods which may have unique dependencies on specific staple gun objects. If the old staple gun is required for other mods or needed for any quests or recipes, one can be found in the basement bedroom of The Lodge.
-
The weapon icons are currently overridden based on mod load order. As a solution we’re grateful for the support of:
NovaFinch - https://creations.bethesda.net/pt/starfield/details/beb13236-6ff1-409a-b60c-1806df5fcfac/Additional_Weapon_Icons ProfX - https://creations.bethesda.net/en/starfield/details/49394891-43c9-491c-865c-be2012416efb/Ammo_HUD__Long_Names_
Nova & ProfX's mods offer supporting weapon Icons and A Staple Addition is included. Without these mods there will be no weapon icon.
-
Staple projectiles will float on surfaces that don’t have accurate surface colliders. We’ll look into methods of making this more visually appealing in a later update.
-
There is some very slight (but not immersion-breaking) animation clipping. The iron-sight animations are also currently obstructive to vision. These will be fixed as soon as animation tools become available.
If there are any other glaring issues, please reach out to “Malloy” in the Official Bethesda discord channel!
Special thanks you to;
Namori, FenHarellan, Miiirty, Jvogy, Nova, ProfX, SesamePaste (Starfield Geometry Bridge), fo76utils (Nifskope)
And of course the Bethesda Game Studios Creations and QA team!
