AURA — Immersive Survival
A highly modular survival overhaul featuring a custom HUD with Starfield’s design language in mind. Your needs, surroundings and character build work together through dynamic survival systems, custom status icons and notifications.
FEATURES
- Survival basics. Manage Food, Drink, Rest, Hygiene, Comfort and Adaptation. Separate gameplay and visibility controls let you choose which systems run and which displays appear.
- A redesigned HUD. Track your needs through custom bars, watch arcs, status icons and notifications, with adjustable visibility and notification placement.
- Comfort and Hygiene. Recover in recognized refuges, including your home ship, player homes, the Lodge and sheltered outposts. Supported showers restore Hygiene, while poor Hygiene affects stealth and ailment risk.
- Adaptation and dangerous encounters. Build Adaptation to resist Stress when fighting Starborn, Terrormorphs and Apex creatures. Reach Attuned for rewards including +15% XP and nearby ammunition highlighting.
- Character choices that matter. Supported backgrounds, traits and perks influence recovery and survival. Beast Hunter rewards hostile predator kills with Adaptation, while Xenobiologist rewards fauna scans with Comfort.
- More than hunger and thirst. Temporary nourishment, overeating, alcohol, blackouts and fatigue add consequences to your choices. Starvation and dehydration damage have a separate toggle.
- True Select Fire support. Automatically displays your current firing mode in AURA’s HUD when True Select Fire is installed.
GAME MODES
Spacefarer runs your enabled AURA survival systems.
External displays Food and Drink from a supported survival source, with AURA’s other survival systems disabled. Compatibility with external survival mods is still being tested; support is not universal.
GETTING STARTED
Open Settings → Gameplay Options to configure AURA. The Help menu explains its systems and interactions. Manual Restart and Generate Bug Report are available through AURA’s settings.
COMPATIBILITY & FEEDBACK
AURA replaces interface files and may conflict with other mods that change the same HUD files. Compatibility with other HUD overhauls is not currently guaranteed.
Balance and compatibility testing are ongoing. For questions, bug reports or balance suggestions, visit discord.gg/astratechnica. When requested, include a screenshot of AURA’s generated bug report and your load order.
